Approach to Counselling
I don’t believe that one school of thought or mode of counselling is appropriate to all people. Therefore, I borrow from a number of psychological orientations depending on your particular needs.
In general, I can say that much of my practice tends to involve cognitive behavioural therapy, in that understanding and change requires both thought and action. Additionally, I borrow some concepts from existential or phenomenological theory, because I believe that my clients are particularly interested in finding meaning in their experiences.
